On Friday, Bryant faced Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Bryant put the hurt on Catholic with a sharp 59-28 win. Bryant were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
It took a quarter to shake off the cobwebs, but after zero first-quarter points, the Bryant offense picked up 31 points in the second quarter. Catholic countered with 14 points, leaving the score at 31-14 going into the half. Bryant put the match away in the third quarter with 21 points from the offense and seven points allowed from the defense. The victory bumped their record up to 4-1. The loss dropped Catholic's record to 4-1.
Next week Bryant take on Central at 7:00 PM. Unlike Bryant, Central will be limping in after taking a loss. As for Catholic, they will face off against Northside.
