There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. The action included a dizzyingly high 115-point combined score from Brandeis and Jay.
Welcome
The Marion offense has been a force to be reckoned with this season, and last week was no different. It breezed past Cole with a final score of 42 - 14. Marion had two big standouts, as senior Jacob Berry earned one touchdown and 178 yards rushing the ball, while junior Tayler Mills tossed the ball for 293 yards and three TDs. The win also thrust Marion into the power rankings, where the team now holds the 24th spot.

O'Connor got a 44 - 41 win over Brennan last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Roel Sanchez. Sanchez ran for 256 yards and also punched in three touchdowns. In fact, our algorithms singled out Sanchez as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
Movin on Up
Boerne-Champion managed to bank 104 more yards than its opponent Seguin last week, and going the extra distance paid off. Boerne-Champion picked up a decisive 'W' against Seguin, finishing up at 49 - 14. Senior Davis Brin was a big part of the win as his strong performance led the charge (he threw for 278 yards and three touchdowns). The success catapulted Boerne-Champion four spots up the power rankings, enough to make it the biggest riser of the week.

After a challenging last week, Brandeis now finds itself down two power ranking positions. No one has a better right to be disappointed since that was the biggest drop of the week. It and Jay were almost perfectly matched up, but Brandeis suffered an agonizing 58 - 57 defeat. The outcome was a definite jolt of excitement for Brandeis after its previous game, where the margin was anything but close.
