Century recap September 17, 2013
Canyon scaled the state rankings by moving to 293 from 401 this week, the biggest jump in Century. The Comanches climbed the ranks as a result of beating Corona 47-17.
El Dorado lost to Fullerton 35-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Billy Hanley was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 111 yards on 16 carries as Brea Olinda fell to Yorba Linda. Teammate Richie Main added to the ground attack by rushing for 39 yards.
Sean McGaffigan put up the best numbers through the air as Foothill beat Beckman. He had a total of 13 completions for 161 yards. McGaffigan's favorite target this week was Bobby Okereke, who caught 4 passes for 68 yards.
Privratsky was the best receiver in the league this week as the Wildcats lost to the Mustangs. Privratsky tallied 9 receptions for 80 yards. Jake McEntee helped Brea Olinda's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 51 yards.
The Knights' McGaffigan and Okereke have formed a dream team this season, leading Century in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback McGaffigan has thrown for 559 yards this season, while Okereke has 13 catches for 225 yards. Brea Olinda's Hanley leads the league in rushing yards with 306.
Villa Park and Cabrillo played the most contested game in the league this week, with Villa Park eventually emerging with a 27-26 victory. Charles Kendrick during the win.
