1A-2 Region II District 8 recap November 5, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 1A-2 Region II District 8 this week, Muenster beat Petrolia 49-12. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Hornets.
Munday moved up to 953 from 981 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Moguls were able to move up by defeating Era 28-21.
Munday's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Moguls feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Alfonso Nunez has thrown for 359 yards and 2 touchdowns this season, while Temerick Reagins has 14 catches for 189 yards. Nunez also leads the league in rushing with 903 yards.
Munday's Nunez needs only 97 yards against Electra next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 133 carries Nunez has put up 903 yards this year.
An important game coming up in 1A-2 Region II District 8 this week will be when Muenster takes on the Hornets. Brady Carney's team is in first place, while Era is in third place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Hornets take on the Hornets. Muenster has allowed 76 points this season, while Era has given up 183. The Hornets allowed 12 points last week as they beat the Pirates.
Petrolia fell to Muenster 49-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.
