Mountain Pass recap Oct. 30, 2012
Citrus Hill's PJ Walker rumbled for the longest rushing play in Mountain Pass this season in his game against Tahquitz last week. Walker ran for 90 yards on the play and finished with 135 on the day as his team bested the Titans.
Citrus Hill extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Tahquitz, 47-21. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
Hemet's dynamic duo of Alex Denbaugh and Matt Parker proved tough for Beaumont to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Denbaugh threw for 194 yards and two touchdowns and Parker had 161 yards receiving. Yeager Taylor helped Hemet's passing attack out by catching five balls for 20 yards.
Trevor Hodge provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Hawks defeated Dennis Gregovich's team. He completed 12 passes for 99 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 176 yards. Hodge's favorite target this week was KJ Young, who caught six passes for 40 yards.
6-foot-2 quarterback Hodge of Citrus Hill is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1449. He has also thrown 12 touchdowns. On the ground, the Titans' Jonte Price has rushed for 1594 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Michael Stewart. The Tahquitz star has 50 catches for 780 yards.
A big matchup in Mountain Pass this week will be when the Cougars take on Tahquitz. Beaumont is currently in third, while the Titans are in second.
San Jacinto led the league in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on West Valley.
