Section 8 Conference IV recap November 5, 2013
Roosevelt extended the longest winning streak in Section 8 Conference IV this week by beating Locust Valley, 21-0. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Roughriders.
Cold Spring Harbor and East Rockaway played the closest game in the league this week, with Cold Spring Harbor eventually emerging with a 27-26 victory.
Clarke's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Peter Falgione threw for 82 yards and Nestor Haddo had 50 yards receiving. On the ground Falgione contributed 148 yards. Luis Hungaria helped Clarke's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 16 yards.
Haddo was the best wideout in the league this week as the Rams fell to Carle Place. Haddo racked up 2 receptions for 50 yards. Hungaria helped Clarke's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 16 yards.
Clarke's Falgione and Haddo led Section 8 Conference IV in both passing and receiving yards. 5-9 quarterback Falgione has thrown for 453 yards this season, while Haddo has 10 catches for 325 yards. Island Trees's John Pascalli leads the league in rushing yards with 492.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when West Hempstead takes on Mineola. The Rams are in second place, while the Mustangs are in sixth place.
West Hempstead led the league in scoring this week by notching 63 points on North Shore.
