In this week's power rankings, we saw one team go soaring up and another team come crashing down, along with everything in between. Among the action were the efforts of Hewitt-Trussville's senior Paul Tyson, an offensive menace who scored five total TDs.
Welcome
Homewood gave both Pelham and its quarterback (sacked 4.5 times) a rough time last week. Homewood scooted by Pelham with a score of 27 - 7. One major factor in the win was the play of junior Keonte Davis, who ran for 91 yards and also punched in one touchdown. The victory also thrust Homewood into the power rankings, where the team now holds the 21st spot.
Can't Touch This
Hewitt-Trussville's 52 - 47 win over Oak Mountain last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Paul Tyson. Tyson tossed the ball for 361 yards and three TDs. That performance landed Tyson among the top power-ranked players for the week.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Clay-Chalkville (5th in the power rankings) and Pinson Valley (4th). Both teams have their heads held high after dominating their previous opponents. Given their high-scoring efforts against their previous opponents, we'll see how far they can run the score up this week.
