Adding to the longest winning streak in Ambassador this week, Western Christian beat Arrowhead Christian 41-38. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Fighting Lancers.
Linfield Christian moved up to 543 from 582 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Lions were able to move up by defeating Ontario Christian 27-20.
Bradley Mowbray threw for 261 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Noah Korinek was a key player and the best on defense this week as Calvary Murrieta fell to Aquinas. He recorded 1 fumble.
Johnny Nguyen was the best receiver in the league this week as the Eagles fell to Western Christian. Nguyen tallied 11 receptions for 115 yards. Isaac Mowbray helped Arrowhead Christian's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 94 yards.
Leading Ambassador in both passing and receiving yards, Arrowhead Christian's Mowbray and Matthew Thompson have proven to be a lethal combination. Mowbray has thrown for 2,012 yards this season, while Thompson has 45 catches for 748 yards. Kevin Oberlander's team's Sarkis Panossian leads the league in rushing yards with 1,463.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Western Christian takes on second place Ontario Christian. Last week, the Fighting Lancers defeated John Beck's team, while the Knights lost to Linfield Christian.
Josh Bayliss of the Ontario Christian is only 43 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Bayliss has rushed for 957 yards on 146 carries so far this year.
The Fighting Lancers' offense has recorded 380 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Chris Stevens' team has permitted only 151 on the year.
Western Christian led the league in scoring this week by notching 41 points on the Eagles. Brad Hargis threw for 85 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 110 yards in the win.
