There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. Among the action were the efforts of Lausanne Collegiate's senior Eric Gray, an offensive menace who scored six total TDs.
Can't Touch This
Lausanne Collegiate got a 55 - 14 win over St. George's last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Eric Gray. Gray earned five touchdowns and 198 yards rushing the ball. In fact, our algorithms singled out Gray as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between Oakland (5th in the power rankings) and Blackman (10th). Oakland came out on top against Blackman with a 24 - 14 win. One of the main ringleaders for Oakland was senior Xavier Myers, who ran for 160 yards and also punched in three touchdowns.
Movin on Up
Given its edge in the MaxPreps state rankings, a win looked likely for Ravenwood in its matchup against Father Ryan. The team got that and then some. Ravenwood breezed past Father Ryan with a final score of 35 - 14. Ravenwood had two big standouts, as junior Tony Rice rushed for 104 yards and scored on one reception, while junior Brian Garcia threw for 283 yards and three touchdowns. The team's efforts were enough to boost its power ranking by seven, which was the most sizeable gain made by any team in the rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Henry County (23rd in the power rankings) and Germantown (11th). Both teams are rolling into the game after last-week wins. With each team boasting a good deal of offensive firepower (Germantown has six high-flying games in a row, Henry County four), it will be interesting to see who can run the score up higher.
