Manalapan got a 48 - 7 win over Freehold Township last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Naim Mayfield. Mayfield ran for 197 yards and also punched in four touchdowns. That performance made Mayfield one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
Delsea has been an offensive powerhouse for seven straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. It put the hurt on Clearview with a conclusive 49 - 14 victory. Delsea was heavily favored coming into this contest, and the results showcase why. At 63 total points, this was the highest scoring power ranking game of the week.
It was onward and upward for South Brunswick this week as the team hoisted itself up four places in the power rankings -- the largest rise of the week -- after their most recent game. It breezed past Monroe Township with a final score of 40 - 8. South Brunswick's margin of victory (32 points) marked the biggest win the team has had all season.
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between St. Peter's Prep (3rd in the power rankings) and Don Bosco Prep (16th). The last time they met, Don Bosco Prep won 28 - 20. Will St. Peter's Prep avenge its loss? We'll find out soon enough.
