Trevor and I are back in beautiful Southern California, getting ready for the HUGE Mater Dei/Servite game on Friday.
Saturday morning, we flew into the airport in Burbank, California (just north of LA) and spent the weekend at the house of Jim and Kym Connor. You might not immediately recognize those names, but they are the two people on earth most responsible for giving me my beloved partner, one Trevor Connor.
It was a great weekend at the Connor residence. For one, it was the first time I had slept somewhere other than a hotel in two months. Secondly, it was nice to sit down around a dinner table and enjoy good food and great conversation. Not to mention, I was a pretty big hit with the pets on the house: Mason, Maggie, and Princess, their cat, who would strut her stuff in the doorway of my bedroom, only to turn and walk away when I politely tried to summon her over towards me.
Speaking of pets, we witnessed quite an animal-related spectacle at the Servite practice today. While watching from the sideline, two dogs sprinted through the middle of the JV practice, and then right across the varsity practice. The two dogs, each looking like a husky, sprinted around playfully and darted through the Servite campus. I'm not sure if it was a good or bad omen, but it was definitely amusing.
We will have more tomorrow. But early returns are that this game could be the most competitive we've seen the entire trip!~SS
