After having lost a blowout in their matchup last week, Prairie were happy to find some success on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Hudson's Bay 23-21. The win was a breath of fresh air for Prairie as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
After a totally unproductive first quarter, the Prairie offense stepped up its game and put 14 points on the board in the second quarter. Hudson's Bay countered with 7 points, leaving the score at 14-7 going into the half. Prairie almost let the match get away from them in the second half, but they had just enough oomph to take it.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Prairie will stay at home next week against Fort Vancouver at 7:00 PM. Fort Vancouver took a loss in their last contest and are no doubt out to reverse Prairie's good fortune. Hudson's Bay will be staying on the road, facing off against Evergreen. Both of those teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
