Junior Colton Pool and senior Brooks Klutts were two go-getters for Boerne even though the team lost; Pool ran for 51 yards and also punched in one touchdown while Klutts tossed the ball for 171 yards and one TD. Klutts went long for a 61-yard TD catch in the fourth quarter, one of the game's most exciting plays.
The defeat brought Boerne down to 7-1. The win got Canyon Lake up to 6-2.
Both teams are aiming to improve upon those records in their upcoming games. Canyon Lake will look to defend its home turf against Fredericksburg this Friday at 7:30 PM. Win or not last game, Canyon Lake hasn't been able to pick up many yards in its past five games, and Fredericksburg will no doubt look to further this trend.
