The MaxPreps Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard made its way to Hilliard Davidson High School, a school outside of Columbus in the great football state of Ohio. Though different in style from our first stop in Prattville, the Tour of Champions ceremony made a lasting impression nonetheless.
Taking place at the halftime of a Boys' varsity basketball game, the Ohio Army National Guard got the celebration started by throwing out shirts and mini-basketballs to the enthusiastic crowd. Next up, MaxPreps representative Chris Brethel took the mic, commenting on the great reputation of Ohio athletics. And as stated by Chris, there were a number of excellent Ohio teams this season, but only one team would be honored with MaxPreps Tour of Champions ceremony this year - the Hilliard Davidson Wildcats.
General Matthew Kambic of the Ohio National Guard continued the ceremony. General Kambic reflected on the great achievements of the Wildcats this past season, particularly their monumental victory over state-powerhouse, Colerain. With cameras flashing and the crowd going wild, Coach Brian White was presented with the MaxPreps National Rankings trophy.
Overall, Hilliard Davidson secured a national ranking of #11 and one thing was clear...Hilliard Davidson is not only one of the best teams in Ohio, but one of the best in the entire country.
