Zephyrhills (10-1) has a real challenge coming up -- the hardest it has met all year. Both it and Clay (8-3) have made it this far into the playoffs, but they square off this Friday at 7:30 PM to determine who is worthy to move on. Clay is skipping in on a three-game winning streak; likewise, Zephyrhills rolls in with ten consecutive wins.
Last week, Zephyrhills took on River Ridge. Zephyrhills's defense took a beating in the first half, giving up 21 points. That put it down 21 - 6. Thankfully, the offense came through for it, scoring 29 in the second half. With its shocking comeback after the half, it stole a 35 - 31 win from River Ridge.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Clay beat Hernando 41 - 37 last week. With three TDs, senior Aundre Carter was a significant factor in the success. Carter should be a familiar name as he has been a major contributor for Clay in the past ten games. Junior Spencer Lesage banked an additional three TDs for the team.
Keep an eye on the score because it could get pretty high: both Clay and Zephyrhills have scored a lot of points in their past games (three in a row for Clay and three in a row for Zephyrhills).
