Falls City were successful in their last outing against Nixon-Smiley, and they didn't afford Nixon-Smiley any payback this time around. Falls City took the match and then some with a 63-6 victory on Friday over Nixon-Smiley. Followers of Falls City probably expected little less of the team in a season in which they have collected four blowout victories.
The game started off well for Falls City, whose offense put up 49 first-half points. Meanwhile, Nixon-Smiley couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 49-0 heading into the break. Falls City put the game away in the third quarter with 14 points from the offense and six points allowed from the defense. The win bumped their record up to 5-0. Nixon-Smiley are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-5.
In two weeks Falls City take on La Pryor at 7:00 PM. Both of those teams have set a high bar for this matchup after stand-out offensive performances in their previous contests. Nixon-Smiley will have some time to rest before their next contest, which is against Poth at 7:30 PM. Given that they both suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
