Long (Longview, Wash.) took the lead for good when they ran for a touchdown with 11:00 remaining in the third quarter and held on to defeat
Kelso (Wash.) 42-21 on Saturday.
The two teams were tied at 14 heading into halftime. The Lumberjacks took the lead for good on a rushing touchdown in the third quarter.
The loss was the third in a row for the Hilanders. The win brought Long's winning streak to three games.
Kelso (0-3) goes up against Evergreen in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Long (3-0) locks horns with Fort Vancouver also in a non-conference game.
