No. 20 Severna Park used a 7-0 run in the first half to spark a 13-6 victory over Westminster for its second-straight Maryland State 4A/3A championship.
The Falcons (18-2), who defeated Westminster in last year's title game, got strong goaltending from
Camille King (nine saves) and five goals and two assists from
Morgan Torggler.
"We told them that they (Westminster) would be ready to go because of what happened last year," said Severna Park coach Carin Peterson, who won her 11th title. "And I think our quick start unsettled them, which was great for us mentally."
Severna Park used good shot selection and quick ball movement to key the attack.
"One of things we focused on was putting every piece of our game together from our offense, to the transitions, to the defenders, to the goalie play," said senior
Ally Adams, who scored twice. "Honestly, I think this was our best game all year."
Westminster (13-5) got two goals and an assist from
Megan Pettine.
In the Maryland 2A/1A title game,
Jenna Misketti had six goals and an assist, and
Courtney Laubach scored four goals to lift
Fallston (Md.) (14-4-1) to a 13-9 victory over Winters Mill (13-6).
Felice Artuso scored three goals for Fallston, while senior attack
Morgan Maier and junior midfielder
Sydney Trentzsch each added two scores.
Cape Henlopen wins 4th-straight Delaware state crownErin Ricker and
Anna Frederick each scored five goals as
Cape Henlopen (Lewes, Del.) capped an 18-0 season by defeating St Andrew's, 17-10, to claim its fourth-straight Delaware state girls' lacrosse championship Thursday at Dover High.

Jordan Brown also scored once.
St. Andrew's (Middletown, Del.) was led in defeat by
Grace Saliba and
Helen Cammerzell, who each had three goals.
Radnor wins Pennsylvania District 1 championship Natalie Miller scored four goals and had one assist and Colleen Packer came off the bench to make seven saves on 10 shots, helping third-seeded
Radnor (Pa.) (19-4) to a 14-7 decision over Conestoga for the Red Raiders' second District 1 title in three years.
Miller scored three of her four goals in the first half, helping No. 23 Radnor to a three-goal advantage at halftime.
Libby Lowry (three goals),
Taryn Deck (two goals), Miller and
Shannon Quinn (two goals, two assists) scored the first four goals of the second half.

The Quakers routed Shawnee, 19-8, to claim the South Jersey Group III title, as
Stephanie Toy had five goals and four assists,
Marie McCool had five goals and an assist, and
Nikki McMonagle had four goals and three assists. They play Thursday vs. Mendham at Hunterdon Central High for the New Jersey Group 3 title.
3. (3) Bryn Mawr (Baltimore), 16-2The Mawrtians were eliminated by Maryvale Prep in the semifinals of the IAAM tournament. They finished second in the regular season and boasted impressive wins over St. Anthony's (15-7) and Garden City (8-3) in the Maryland-New York Challenge.
4. (4) St. Anthony's (Melville, N.Y.), 16-1The Friars claimed their fifth-straight CHSAA championship Monday by toppling Sacred Heart, 19-12, as
Annie Heagerty (four goals, two assists),
Darcy Messina (four goals, one assist) and
Maggie Bill (four goals) led the way.
5. (5) Century (Sykesville, Md.), 17-1The Knights won their sixth state championship with a 12-9 victory over Queen Anne's in the Class 3A/2A title game at UMBC Stadium.
Haley Bordner (five goals, one assist),
Alice Mercer (three goals) and
Angela Flister (two goals) led the attack for the Knights, who scored five straight goals in the final 5:09 of the first half to turn a 5-3 deficit into an 8-5 halftime lead. Century has reached the state championship game nine times in the school's 10-year history.
6. (6) Farmingdale (N.Y.), 16-1The Dalers whipped Oceanside, 14-2, in the Nassau County Class A semifinals as
Kimberly Kolodny collected six goals and two assists and
Bridget Weill added three goals. Farmingdale will play Massapequa in the finals on Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Adelphi.
7. (7) Maryvale Prep (Brooklandville, Md.), 13-4The Lions reached the finals of the IAAM A Conference tournament where they gave McDonogh all it could handle in a 12-11 loss. They also scored a memorable 9-7 victory over No. 2 seed Bryn Mawr in the semifinals. They won eight straight games until bowing to McDonogh.
8. (8) Ridgewood (N.J.), 21-2Kaitlin Concilio had five goals and an assist and
Kelci Smesko scored five goals as the Maroons toppled Ridge, 16-12, to win the Group 4 North championship.
Katie Smesko added three goals and an assist for the Maroons, who bolted to a 10-3 halftime lead. They play Clearview Regional on Thursday in the State Group 4 title game.

9. (9) West Genesee (Camillus, N.Y.), 16-1The Lady Cats routed Fayetteville-Manius, 19-6, in the Section 3 semifinals as
Erica Geremia had seven goals and two assists and
Emily Tripodi had three goals and five assists. West Genesee will face Liverpool in the title game on Tuesday.
10. (10) Chatham (N.J.), 21-2The Cougars handled Summit, 21-8, for their third-straight North Jersey Group 2 championship.
Kelsey Perselay scored six goals while
Jaclyn Leto had four to improve her season total to 102. The Cougars face Red Bank Catholic for the state title on Thursday.
11. (11) Vero Beach (Fla.), 21-2The Fighting Indians won their seventh-straight state title and extended their win streak over Florida opponents to 93 games with a 22-6 rout of Bishop Moore in the FHSAA final.

(12) St. Stephen's & St. Agnes (Alexandria, Va.), 27-3The Saints capped the year with two championships, first winning the Independent School League crown with an 18-6 rout of Georgetown Visitation and then sweeping three games to claim the Virginia State Independent Tournament, capped by a 16-5 win over Bishop Ireton Saturday at Old Dominion.
13. (13) Guilderland (Guilderland Center, N.Y.), 18-0The Flying Dutch routed Shenendehowa, 16-8, in the Section 2 Class A semifinals. They will meet Shaker on Wednesday for the championship.
14. (14) Ward Melville (East Setauket, N.Y.), 17-1The top-seeded Patriots advanced to the Suffolk County Class A title game by downing East Islip, 13-5, as
Ally Tilley had four goals and
Emily Rogers-Healion and
Kelsey Nagle each contributed two goals and three assists. Ward Melville plays second-seeded Bay Shore in the championship game Thursday at 8 p.m. at Dowling.

18. (18) Hauppauge (N.Y.), 16-2The Eagles advanced to the Suffolk County Class B finals with a thrilling 10-9 win over Harborfield as
Taylor Ranftle tallied five goals, including the winner with less than 3 minutes left.
Lauren Descalzo added three goals for the Eagles, who play Eastport-South Manor in the finals on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Dowling.
19. (21) Christian Brothers Academy (Syracuse, N.Y.), 17-1Marissa Romeo had five goals and an assist and
Taylor Poplawski had four goals and three assists as the Brothers whipped Tully, 17-8, in a Section 3 Class C semifinal. CBA meets Skaneateles in the final on Tuesday.

Colleen Lovett (four goals, one assist) scored the game-winner with 5 minutes left in the second half.
Kaleigh Craig (four goals, one assist) added the insurance goal for Wantagh, which will play Garden City for the championship Wednesday at Adelphi.
22. (NR) West Morris Mendham (Mendham, N.J.), 19-4The Minutemen downed West Windsor-North, 16-5, in the Group 3 North championship as
Maggie Sinzer scored six goals. They meet No. 2 Moorestown in the N.J. Group 3 title game on Thursday at Hunterdon Central High.
23. (NR) Radnor (Pa.), 19-4Natalie Miller scored four goals as the third-seeded Red Raiders routed Conestoga, 14-7, for their second District 1 championship in three years. Radnor avenged a 15-7 loss to Conestoga in the regular season and will meet Hatboro-Horsham in the first round of the state tournament Wednesday at West Chester East.
24. (24) Marriotts Ridge (Marriottsville, Md.), 17-1The Mustangs were stunned by arch-rival Mt. Hebron, 10-8, in the third round of the 3A/2A Maryland state playoffs. The Mustangs were the District 5 champions.
25. (25) Sacred Heart Academy (Hempstead, N.Y.), 16-4The Spartans reached the finals of the Catholic High School tournament, bowing to St. Anthony's, 19-12.
