The defeat comes as a step back for Morton Ranch, which notched a 28-0 victory over Alief Hastings in its previous outing. With the win the Tigers extended their winning streak to four games. The loss snapped the Mavericks' 3-game winning streak.
Katy (4-0) goes up against Mayde Creek in a 5A Region III District 19 game matchup next week, while Morton Ranch (3-1) locks horns with Cinco Ranch also in a 5A Region III District 19 game.
