Video: Eric Melesio's highlights vs. Patriot High School
See the Braves' senior rush for 487 yards and six scores in a 55-7 win.
Ezekiel Tapia of Estancia rushed for one of the highest single game yardage totals in New Mexico state history last week, but he'll have to settle for just third place on the all-time school list.
Tapia carried 30 times for 406 yards in a 45-0 win over McCurdy (Espanola, N.M.) to rank No. 5 on the all-time state list. The Nos. 1 and 2 all-time rushing performances in state history, however, come from Estancia with Cesar Quintana rushing for 504 yards in 2014 and Adam Lujan rushing for 459 yards in 2015.
Tapia's effort is one of the highlights in this week's MaxPreps National High School Football Stat Stars.
Also on the list this week is Alex Huston, who threw for 515 yards in Glendale's 63-35 win over Camdenton (Mo.) to become the quickest to 10,000 career yards. Huston needed just 20 games to reach 10,000 yards and is averaging 505 yards per game in his career.
