It was a banner year for Texas high school girls basketball with outstanding team efforts and superlative individual accomplishments.
Brittney Griner, the 6-8 dunking machine out of Aldine Nimitz,
garnered most of the headlines for her play above the rim and leading her team
to the state championship game, where they fell to Mansfield Summit, 52-43. But
Griner was not the only player to star during the 2008-09 season. Following is
a look at the talented athletes who comprise the 2008-2009 All-State teams.
