Central got a 35 - 7 win over Bullard last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Jevon Bigelow. Bigelow earned three touchdowns and 185 yards rushing the ball. In fact, our algorithms singled out Bigelow as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
Can't Stop Won't Stop
The Tulare Union offense has been a force to be reckoned with this season, and last week was no different. It breezed past Garces Memorial with a final score of 42 - 12. Senior Kazmeir Allen was a big part of the win as his strong performance led the charge (he ran for 192 yards and also punched in three touchdowns). With 12 consecutive wins, Tulare Union boasts the longest winning streak of any team in the rankings.

Selma put forth a good scoring effort last week and even improved upon it this week, but that didn't prove quite enough. It fought the good fight but suffered a stinging 36 - 35 defeat in overtime to North. Selma and North were a much more even match than Selma's previous opponent, giving the fans a heck of a game. The rough outing dragged Selma down six positions in the power rankings -- the largest fall of the week.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Buchanan (4th in the power rankings) and Clovis West (3rd). Both teams are coming in hot off of wins in their previous games. Only one team will win this week, so we'll see which team fails to repeat its success.
