I rose from a deep sleep in Matewan, West Virginia, where our power cord was plugged in through the window of the principl's office, and the RV was directly in front of the entrance to the school. We said our goodbyes and thanks, and got on our way to Plymouth, Pennsylvania. The drive showcased all the colors of fall, and right before we arrived at our final destination, we had to see one more spectacular view. An old friend from kindergarten was the view in Williamsport that I had to see. His name is Alex Callenberger, and four years ago he moved out here to study music, and I really haven't kept in touch like I should have. He has become such a talented musician. It was great to listen to some of his work, and also reminisce about the good old days in Placerville. He is one was those people that even though we have been away from each other for four years, we picked up right where we left off. Alex, thank you for taking the time to visit with us on such late notice, and giving us some music to listen to while on the road.
This week's game pits one of the state's premier football minds against his old team. George Curry coached for 35 years at Berwick, and now is coaching his first game as the opposition to the school that he led to six state titles. He is a man that has been named head coach of the Pennsylvania All-Century Team by Pennsylvania Football news, and was expected to have a rebuilding year with his Spartans this year, but a 6-0 record is making Berwick's task look harder than expected, especially since they are off to just a record of 2-4. Put these records aside, these teams are playing for one game and one game only.
