Upcoming Drama
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Round Rock (349th in the state) and Pflugerville (416th). Both teams are coming in hot off of wins in their previous games. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both Cedar Ridge and Round Rock put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they play one another this week.
Big Showdown
It was a battle of top-notch squads when Westlake (1st in the power rankings) took on Hays (18th) last week. Westlake claimed a 34 - 24 victory over Hays. Senior Nakia Watson deserves a lot of the credit as he earned two touchdowns and 158 yards rushing the ball. This marked the 6th consecutive game in which Watson had 100+ rushing yards.
No Stoppin 'Em
Georgetown managed to bank 268 more yards than its opponent East View last week, and going the extra distance paid off. Georgetown picked up a decisive 'W' against East View, finishing up at 68 - 20. Georgetown especially relied on senior Caden Leggett, who caught passes for 132 yards and three touchdowns, and senior Cooper Bell, who tossed the ball for 200 yards and four TDs. The combined 88-point effort made this the highest-scoring game in the power rankings for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
