RANDLEMAN, N.C. -
Randleman (N.C.) took an early lead against West Davidson (Lexington, N.C.) and held on for a 44-14 victory on Saturday.
The Tigers put up 16 points in the opening quarter. Randleman scored on a touchdown run by
Spencer Hamilton and a
Nathan Sloan touchdown run.
After taking the lead on a Hamilton touchdown run in the first quarter, RHS was up 16-0 at the half.
The Tigers grew their lead to 23 points entering the fourth quarter. Randleman scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by Sloan to
Bobby Gibbs.
Sloan stood out for RHS in the win. The junior quarterback threw two touchdowns.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 41-13 win for the Tigers.
The defeat comes as a step back for West Davidson, who notched a 49-0 victory over South Davidson in its previous outing. The win brought Randleman's winning streak to three games.
Randleman (3-0) goes up against Asheboro in a non-conference game matchup next week, while West Davidson (1-2) locks horns with Central Davidson also in a non-conference game.
