Both Crawford (11-2) and Mart (12-1) have made it this far into the playoffs, but they square off this Thursday at 7:30 PM to determine who is worthy to move on. Mart is skipping in on a 12-game winning streak; likewise, Crawford rolls in with eight consecutive wins.
Last week, Crawford took on Bosqueville. Crawford's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 40 points in the first half. That put it at a 40 - 19 advantage. The offense continued to do well in the second half, scoring 22 points. In the end, Crawford steamrollered its way to an easy 62 - 25 victory.
As for Mart, it can now show off 12 landslide victories after its most recent game. The final score between it and De Leon last week was a 47 - 7 blowout in Mart's favor. With four TDs, junior Shatydrick Bailey was a significant factor in the success. Bailey's 82-yard rush in the second quarter especially got the fans up on their feet. Bailey has been a consistent playmaker for Mart as this was the 8th good game in a row from him. Junior Tyrek Horne was in the mix too, providing Mart with two touchdowns.
There could be some fireworks in this game: Crawford has finished with big points in its past four games; likewise, Mart has had high scores in its last 13.
