Great West recap October 8, 2013
Scott was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after topping Hugoton. The Beavers came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 33 last week.
Ulysses took down Goodland 75-34 last week, the largest margin of any game. Ian Rudzik ran for 467 yards in the win.
Trey Teeter threw for 286 yards and 5 touchdowns. He went 11-34 with 2 interceptions.
Rudzik was a passing and rushing force as the Tigers beat the Cowboys.
Rudzik was a beast in the backfield as Ulysses topped Goodland.
Dax Ruhs was the best wideout in Great West this week as Kent Teeter's team lost to Jason Kenny's team. Ruhs racked up 5 receptions for 174 yards. Kolt Trachsel helped Goodland's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 57 yards.
The Cowboys' Teeter and Ruhs led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Teeter has thrown for 1,314 yards this season, while Ruhs has 24 catches for 576 yards. Rudzik from the Tigers leads the league in rushing with 1,094 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Ulysses takes on Holcomb. At the moment, the Tigers are in first, while the Longhorns are in fourth.
Scott made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,605 from 2,131. The improvement was largely due to a 28-0 victory over the Eagles last week.
