Luther (Okla.) led 12-8 at halftime, but
Dibble (Okla.) recaptured the lead on a rushing touchdown with 5:00 to go in the third. The Lions grabbed hold of the lead when
Seth Stivers thew a touchdown to
Maurice Wright with 4:00 remaining in the third quarter, and never relinquished it.
Luther grew its lead to 12 points entering the fourth quarter. LHS scored three times in the third, including once on a Stivers touchdown pass to Wright.
The defeat comes as a step back for Dibble, who notched a 38-20 victory over Empire in its previous outing. The win was a nice bounce back for the Lions, who lost to Cashion last week, 20-13. The loss ended Dibble's three-game winning streak.
In a 2A District 2 game next week Luther (3-1) takes on Crooked Oak, and Dibble (3-1) will go up against Northeast also in a 2A District 2 game.
