FACEBOOK CONTEST LAUNCHED TO FIND THE BEST HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL FANS IN THE COUNTRY

Voting Begins Aug. 1 at www.Facebook.com/HerbstreitFootball

[Aug. 1, 2011] CHICAGO – The search is on for the top high school football fan base in the country and 16 football powerhouses are in the running, Intersport announced today. The winner is wholly determined by fan voting and will be announced on ESPN and FSN during the seventh annual Kirk Herbstreit National Kickoff Classic Labor Day weekend.

The 16 participants in this year's Kickoff Classic include national football powerhouses Cocoa (Cocoa, Fla.), Frederick A. Douglass (Oklahoma City), Cedar Hill (Cedar Hill, Texas), Denton Guyer (Denton, Texas), Edna Karr (New Orleans) and Cleveland Glenville (Cleveland).

Voting opens Monday, Aug. 1, on the Kickoff Classic Facebook fan page (www.facebook.com/HerbstreitFootball) and concludes on Friday, Sept. 2. With every vote cast, an interactive leader board will refresh with new standings. To support their school, fans can vote as many times as they would like and are able to share their vote with Facebook friends.

The seventh annual Kirk Herbstreit National Kickoff Classic is a series of nationally televised high school football games in Ohio and Texas Labor Day weekend. The Ohio games will take place Sept. 4-5 at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, and will be aired on ESPN networks. Texas contests will take place Sept. 5 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and will be broadcast on FSN.

Tickets to the 2011 Kirk Herbstreit National Kickoff Classic are $10 for students and $15 for adults, and can be purchased at www.herbstreitclassic.com. Tickets are good for entry to all games at Ohio Stadium or Cowboys Stadium for the date purchased.
