SEARCY, Ark. - The defense did their part on the scoring end for for
Batesville (Ark.) on Saturday, totaling 12 points as the Pioneers defeated Searcy (Ark.) 48-14.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run in the second quarter, the Pioneers led 21-14 at the half.
Batesville expanded its lead to 21 points entering the fourth quarter. BHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown.
The Pioneers got revenge for last year's 37-22 loss to the Lions with the victory.
The loss comes after Searcy defeated McClellan 38-13 last week. The win was a nice bounce back for Batesville, which lost to Springdale last week, 42-27.
Searcy (1-1) goes up against Morrilton in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Batesville (1-1) locks horns with Jonesboro also in a non-conference game.
