In this week's power rankings, we saw one team go soaring up and another team come crashing down, along with everything in between. Among the action were the efforts of Burlington Township's senior Danny Grozozski, an offensive menace who scored five total TDs.
Pottsgrove has been an offensive powerhouse for four straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. It picked up a decisive 'W' against Upper Perkiomen, finishing up at 51 - 0. One of the main ringleaders for Pottsgrove was senior Jay Sisko, who tossed the ball for 202 yards and four TDs. The win also thrust Pottsgrove into the power rankings, where the team now holds the 24th spot.
Can't Touch This
Williamstown got a 34 - 3 win over Cherokee last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Jonathan Collins. Collins earned three touchdowns and 145 yards rushing the ball. In fact, our algorithms singled out Collins as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
The battle between Hun (ranked 21st in the MaxPreps state rankings) and Blair Academy (ranked 10th) turned out to be a somewhat underwhelming competition. Hun strolled past Blair Academy with points to spare, taking the game 26 - 6. Hun saw its record improve to 3-1 and its power rank jump ten places as a result.
No Stoppin 'Em
The match between Lower Merion and Garnet Valley last week put some strain on the scoreboard; in fact, with a total of 70 final points, it was the highest scoring contest in the power rankings for the week. Garnet Valley took its contest against Lower Merion by a conclusive 49 - 21 score. Nevertheless, Garnet Valley did not have enough punch to impress the power rankings algorithm and slipped five spots in the rankings.
