On a beautiful Wednesday morning in Northern California, The MaxPreps Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard, made a stop at Bellarmine Prep High School to honor the nation’s 20th ranked football team. The presentation took place in the school amphitheater as students passed from 3rd to 4th period classes. Students and Faculty hung over the three-story stairway banisters to see their team honored.
Army National Guard SGT Jhemee Duhaylungsod was introduced by MaxPreps’ Chris Stonebraker. The Sergeant had his “dressed blues” on as he spoke to the team about commitment and loyalty. As he presented the “Minuteman Trophy” to the Team, the students cheered. The Coaches and Athletic Director were gracious and spoke highly of their team’s efforts this season.
After a few photo “opp’s” and interviews by the Times Community Newspapers, the players received their commemorative tour t-shirts and Army National Guard memorabilia. With big smiles reflecting the satisfaction that comes with recognition of hard work and discipline, the Bells grabbed their backpacks and headed to their next class.
