Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps national rankings, Santa Margarita should expect quite the challenge on Thursday. They take on Servite at Trabuco Hills at 7:00 PM. Santa Margarita have seen their point totals decreasing over the past three games, a vulnerability Servite are surely hoping to exploit.
After some red-hot point totals in their last 3 games, Santa Margarita fizzled out last Friday. They were given a punishing 7-49 loss at the hands of Mater Dei. Santa Margarita's loss came about despite a quality game from senior Jake Ebach, who caught passes for 113 yards and 1 touchdown. Ebach has now scored at least one touchdown in the past three games.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Servite, and their matchup last Friday only extended their streak of losses to three. They were completely outmatched, falling 6-49 to JSerra Catholic. Servite were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-35.
With the two teams each stumbling in off of a defeat, both will be hungry for the victory. Neither squad could put together much of an offensive attack, so expect every point to count.
