Red Lion (8-2) has a real challenge coming up -- the hardest it has met all year. This Friday it takes on Wilson (7-3) in the first playoff game of the year. Red Lion has never lost back-to-back, and it wants to keep it that way.
Last week, Red Lion took on Dallastown. Red Lion had a poor defensive performance in the first half, giving up 21 points. That left it at a 21 - 20 disadvantage. The defense unfortunately couldn't turn things around in the second half and allowed another 19 points. The net result was a 40 - 27 defeat.
Meanwhile, Wilson can now show off five landslide victories after its most recent game. It breezed past Conestoga Valley last week with a final score of 52 - 21. One major factor in the win was the play of senior Iggy Reynoso, who ran for 177 yards and also punched in three touchdowns. He supplied the game with one of its most unforgettable moments, a 63-yard punt return for a touchdown in the second quarter.
We'll find out if Red Lion can recover from its defensive difficulties last week or if Wilson gives the team a hard time.
