Decatur (Federal Way, Wash.) captured the lead in the fourth quarter and held on for a 32-28 victory over
Renton (Wash.) on Saturday. The Golden Gators took the lead for good when they threw a touchdown.
The Golden Gators led 12-0 at halftime, but the Indians regained the lead on a touchdown run by
Ernie Davis with less than a minute remaining in the third. Decatur grabbed hold of the lead when they threw a touchdown with less than a minute remaining in the fourth quarter, and never relinquished it.
By the end of the third, DHS found itself trailing by three points as Renton captured the lead thanks to three scores in the quarter. RHS scored on a touchdown, a touchdown and an Davis touchdown run in the quarter.
The win was a nice bounce back for the Federal Way school, which lost to Wilson last week, 32-20. The loss comes after Renton defeated Olympic 26-20 last week.
