Carlsbad have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They will be playing at home against La Costa Canyon at at 7:00 PM on Friday. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against Carlsbad, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
Carlsbad narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Oceanside 23-21. Carlsbad had a senior duo take command as Luke Armstrong picked up 168 yards on the ground and Keoni Quintana's accumulated 199 passing yards and punched in 1 rushing TD. Quintana has been a consistent playmaker for Carlsbad as this was the 7th good game in a row from him.
As for La Costa Canyon, they had a rough outing against San Marcos three weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. La Costa Canyon walked away with a 30-19 victory over Valley Center.
Their wins bumped Carlsbad to 4-3 and La Costa Canyon to 6-1.
