The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. This Friday Logansport takes on North Central in the first playoff game of the year. Logansport has been tearing up the end zone with big points in its last eight contests.
Logansport kept its home record unblemished after another positive outing on its own turf. It got a somewhat close 36 - 30 victory over St. Mary last week. Logansport had two big standouts, as junior Madrid Johnson jr earned two touchdowns and 93 yards rushing the ball, while junior Tresmin Brown ran for 119 yards and also punched in one touchdown. Johnson jr's longest touchdown was a 44-yard scramble in the third quarter. Johnson jr has now scored at least one TD in the past five consecutive games. Senior John Stephens, jr. was in the mix too, providing Logansport with two touchdowns. Meanwhile, last week North Central came up short against False River, falling 34 - 26.
North Central's defeat dropped it to 1-9 while Logansport's win brought it to 10-0. North Central's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Logansport defense that got nine sacks against St. Mary last week. We'll see if it is up to the challenge.
