Things didn't go so well for Oxford (2 - 2) last week, and it has a real challenge ahead. This week, it and West Point (3 - 1) square off against each other on Friday at 7:00 PM.
Last week, West Point took on Noxubee County. West Point's offense came in ready to rumble, putting up 41 points in the first half. That put it at a 41 - 6 advantage. The defense contributed as well, holding Noxubee County to zero points in the second half. In the end, West Point steamrollered its way to an easy 47 - 6 victory.
As for Oxford, it couldn't turn its matchup two weeks ago into much of a game as it lost 23 - 3 to Lafayette. The team got a solid performance out of junior running back Hiram Wadlington jr.; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win.
We'll find out if Oxford can steal West Point's luck or if West Point records another victory instead.
