Clearfield (Pa.) defeat Philipsburg-Osceola (Philipsburg, Pa.) 56-7 after a solid game from
Christian Lezzer, who rushed for five touchdowns. Thanks to solid play, the senior now has 23 touchdowns for the year.
After taking the lead on a
Tyler Stratton touchdown run in the first quarter, the Bison were up 35-7 at the half.
Clearfield expanded its lead to 35 points entering the fourth quarter. CHS scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by Lezzer.
Even though the Bison led by 35 entering the fourth quarter, they poured the points on, scoring 14 in the quarter.
Philipsburg-Osceola's lone touchdown came on a 6-yard run by Jake Anderson in the second quarter.
Clearfield had given up an average of 16.3 points prior to the contest. The seven points that the Mountaineers ended with were well below their average of 21.4 coming into the game.
CHS also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 42-7.
Philipsburg-Osceola (1-8) faces off against Forest Hills in a non-conference game its next time out. The Rangers go into the week with a record of 4-4.
