Brandon Brittain threw three touchdowns and
Ben Flaherty caught three as
Van Meter (Iowa) defeated Central Decatur (Leon, Iowa) 37-7 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a Brittain touchdown pass to Flaherty in the second quarter, the Bulldogs were up 14-0 at the half.
Van Meter expanded its lead to 24 points entering the fourth quarter. VM scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by Brittain to Flaherty.
Central Decatur's lone touchdown came on a 20-yard pass from Peyton Pedersen to Jon Simmons in the fourth quarter.
The loss comes after Central Decatur defeated Clarke 27-14 last week.
Central Decatur (3-2) goes up against Colfax-Mingo in a 1A District 7 game matchup next week, while Van Meter (5-0) locks horns with Mt. Ayr also in a 1A District 7 game.
