You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out between Palm Desert and Dominguez. Palm Desert's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 41 points in the first half. Dominguez put up 8, so the score was 41-8 at the half. The Palm Desert defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 6 and all but finishing the match.
No one put up better numbers for Palm Desert than senior Jordan Garcia, who brought his A game into the match. He picked up 276 yards on the ground. One of the most memorable plays of the game was Garcia's 61-yard touchdown rush in the second quarter. Senior Carter Stokes was in the mix, too, providing Palm Desert with 2 touchdowns. The victory bumped their record up to 5-0. The loss dropped Dominguez's record to 1-3.
Palm Desert will have some time to rest before their next matchup, which is against Shadow Hills in two weeks at 7:00 PM. Dominguez will be staying on the road next week, facing off against Centennial. Dominguez have seen their point totals decreasing over the past three games, a vulnerability Centennial are surely hoping to exploit.
