Jake Wallace and Liam Cabrera provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Loyola. The connection went for 78 yards, the longest such play in Foothill this season.
Golden Valley moved up to 498 from 530 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Grizzlies were able to move up by topping Chatsworth 47-6.
Canyon's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Cade Apsay threw for 268 and 2 touchdowns and Cabrera had 148 yards receiving. On the ground Elijah Williams chipped in 78 yards. Dominic Somilleda helped Canyon's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 38 yards.
Ryan Swart was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Cowboys topped Steele Canyon. The 5-foot-10 senior grabbed 2 sacks.
He was 21-37 with 0 interceptions.
Wallace provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Valencia lost to the Cubs. He completed 15 passes for 241 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 58 yards. Wallace's key target this week was Nick Jones, who caught 3 passes for 122 yards.
Williams was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 78 yards on 11 carries as Canyon beat the Cougars. Myron McAfee also contributed to the rushing game with 60 yards on the ground.
On the heels of Brady White and Connor Wingenroth, Hart has had great success on offense. White leads the league in passing with 1,492 yards, while Wingenroth has rushed for 664 yards this season. Rich Gutierrez's team's Cabrera leads the league in receiving yards with 538 on 31 catches.
The top two teams in Foothill will face off this week when first place Hart takes on second place West Ranch.
The Indians' offense has recorded 191 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while West Ranch has permitted only 46 on the year.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when Hart and the Wildcats face off next week.
Mike Herrington's team extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Santa Monica, 26-14. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Indians.
