After having trouble last week, things aren't likely to get any easier for Issaquah. It and Skyline go head to head this Friday at 7:00 PM. Skyline will be looking to take advantage of a struggling Issaquah defense that has allowed an average of 37.5 points per game.
Issaquah had a rough outing against Eastlake last week, losing 49 - 7. The blowout was painful but not necessarily a surprise as Eastlake is ranked 27th in the state, many places higher than Issaquah.
As for Skyline, it was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last week as it fell 42 - 35 to Woodinville. The team got a solid performance out of senior running back Isaiah Shim (he ran for 99 yards and punched in two touchdowns); unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win. Shim has been a consistent playmaker for Skyline as this was the 7th good game in a row from him.
After their losses, Skyline dropped to 6-2 and Issaquah dropped to 1-7. We'll find out which team can get past their defeat and step into the winner's circle.
