is the new record holder for passing yards in a Georgia high school game.
The junior quarterback from Lee County completed 42 of 70 passes for 591 yards and five touchdowns in a 48-35 loss to Warner Robins last week.
The previous record was set by Hutson Mason of Lassiter in a 2009 playoff game against South Gwinnett. Mason is now a freshman at the University of Georgia.
"We fell behind by 21 early and had to keep throwing it to try and get back in the game,'' said Lee County coach Lee Fabrizio. "Justin is such a student of the game. He does a great job in preparation during the week and this enables him to make such quick reads during the game."
If the record was going to fall this season, Walker was the most likely suspect.
Walker threw for 501 yards in a game earlier this season against Houston County. He has thrown for 3,177 yards in 10 games this season and is 234-for-385 with 39 touchdowns. Walker's season yardage ranks 10th all-time in Georgia.
Fabrizio said Walker, who is 6-foot-3, 190 pounds, is being recruited by Middle Tennessee, Western Kentucky
and West Georgia
