Southeast junior quarterback Ryan Martin almost single-handedly carried the Lancers to a victory over Erie last weekend.
Late in the fourth quarter, Erie was driving toward midfield in a 21-21 game. That is until Martin stepped in front of a Preston Page pass and took it back to the Erie 26-yard line.
Four plays later, Martin found Zac Scales in the end zone to pull out a 27-21 win.
"He ran that play perfectly," Southeast head coach Bryan Burdette told the Pittsburg Morning Sun about the winning touchdown. "He read the defense, went through his progressions because Zac was actually the fourth option on that play. Ryan did a great job of avoiding the pressure, setting his feet and throwing a good ball where only our guy could make a play on it."

Girls Tennis: Martino Takes Three-Hour Match From Eades
Parsons' Katie Martino outlasted Independence's Brandie Eades during a three-hour Kansas sub-state tennis match at Forest Park Friday during first round action. Martino took the first game 6-3 before Eades evened the match with a 6-2 triumph. Martino then gutted out the third set by a 6-4 margin.
"Katie was relentless, never giving up and never giving into how tired she was," Parsons coach Jane Posch told the Parsons Sun. "She has so much mental toughness."
The first round win guaranteed Martino a trip to the final four and a state berth.
