Adding to the longest winning streak in 5A Conference 14 this week, Briar Woods beat Broad Run 37-34. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.
Briar Woods and the Spartans played the most contested game in the league this week, with Briar Woods eventually emerging with a 37-34 victory. Trace McSorley threw for 294 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 102 yards in the win.
Charlie Pierce's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground McSorley chipped in 102 yards. Melvin Holland Jr. helped Briar Woods' passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 70 yards.
