Selena Pasadyn, a senior at
Brunswick (Ohio), has been named female winner of the annual Wendy's High School Heisman award. It is based on athletic and academic achievement as well as community involvement.

Garrett Gosse of
Meadows (Las Vegas) won the male Heisman.
Each will receive a trophy and $500 gift certificate, while each school will receive a $10,000 cash award on their behalf.
Pasadyn was a standout in swimming, cross country and track. She holds school records in cross country, two swimming events and two track events, while also finding time to be involved in many church and community activities. She skipped two grades in elementary school and entered high school at age 12. Now 16, she is ranked No. 1 in her senior class with a 4.74 GPA.

Gosse has earned All-State honors in football, basketball and baseball. He set single-game school records in football with 468 passing yards and six touchdowns passes. He also set a state baseball record with 18 strikeouts in a single game. In addition, he is his school's career scoring leader in basketball. Off the field, he is a National Merit Scholarship semifinalist.
