Pinconning and Whittemore-Prescott meet up on Friday this week after opposite experiences in their previous matchups. Whittemore-Prescott won a game last week that couldn't get any closer, slipping by Hillman 42 - 41. As for Pinconning, it simply didn't have it last week, losing 41 - 6 to Michigan Lutheran Seminary.
Even if a win is a win, Whittemore-Prescott didn't have the same dominating performance against Hillman as it did against Rogers City the game before. Freshman Russ Wilson was a big part of the win as his strong performance led the charge (he earned two touchdowns and 183 yards rushing the ball). Junior Tanner Harrison was an active contributor as well and provided 107 receiving yards. The win bumped Whittemore-Prescott's record up to 4-4.
Meanwhile, Pinconning's game was pretty much over by the third quarter last week, when the team was down by 35. The defeat dropped its record to 2-6.
Both Pinconning and Whittemore-Prescott have been struggling on the defensive side of the ball (the former allowing an average of 35 points per game, the latter an average of 29 points per game). We'll find out which offense can take advantage of this fact when the two teams meet this week.
