The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. This Friday Levelland takes on Decatur in the first playoff game of the year. Decatur will need to watch out since Levelland has posted big point totals in its previous four matchups.
Everything went its way against Mountain View last week as it secured a 63 - 12 win. Senior wide receiver Jeffrey Elliott had a nice 184-yard performance that was surely well-received by fans. Elliott has been a consistent playmaker for Levelland as this was the 11th good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, Decatur didn't have too many spare points last week in its contest with Stephenville, but it was still a 49 - 42 win. Senior running back Payton McAlister was a big part of the win as his strong performance led the charge (he earned two touchdowns and 116 yards rushing the ball). This marked the 5th consecutive game in which McAlister had 100+ rushing yards.
Their wins bumped Decatur to 7-4 and Levelland to 8-3. Keep an eye on the score because it could get pretty high: both Decatur and Levelland have scored a lot of points in their past games (nine in a row for Decatur and four in a row for Levelland).
