Gulf Breeze (Fla.) had a comfortable lead entering the fourth quarter, but used 14 fourth quarter points to seal the 28-0 victory over
Bay (Panama City, Fla.).
After taking the lead on a
Slade Jarmon touchdown pass to
Jacob Kubik in the second quarter, the Dolphins were up 7-0 at the half.
Gulf Breeze grew its lead to 14 points entering the fourth quarter. GB scored once in the quarter on a Jarmon touchdown run.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Dolphins came away with a 44-14 victory.
The victory was a step in the right direction for Gulf Breeze, which was coming off a 31-14 defeat at the hands of Choctawhatchee in its previous game. The loss was the third in a row for the Tornadoes. The victory ended Gulf Breeze's two-game losing streak.
In a 5A District 1 game next week Gulf Breeze (2-2) takes on Rutherford, and Bay (2-3) will go up against West Florida also in a 5A District 1 game.
